Legacy Project
Developing South Africa’s children through inter-locking partnerships
Champagne Valley School Trust

About us
Our vision is to find the missing puzzle pieces to secure a brighter picture for South Africa’s children.
The vision of the project is to improve the quality of education in our community through leadership development and choral music. A second component of ‘developing’ schools is developing the young children within them. Developing students in English, Maths and Science is key to the future of positive careers for children and creating the skills necessary for the future success of South Africa.

Vision
The vision of the project is to improve the quality of education in our community through leadership development and choral music.
Mission
Develop effective, inspirational leaders through music with constructive programmes for the benefit of the teachers and youth of KZN.
Our History
The Legacy Project was conceptualised in the Champagne Valley of the Central Drakensberg as a partnership program with the Drakensberg Boys Choir School. It has run for the past 5 years, and due to its success, has now attracted funding to be replicated in Pietermaritzburg. In addition, the Penreach Outreach Programme and The Foundation of School Leadership provide guidance and mentorship.
Working Together
The Legacy Project model embraces the concept of attracting investment in local community leadership development through scholarships, workshops and the sharing of privileges. Fundraising and implementation of the project falls to PSI Projects, a Western Cape NPC and PBO, under the leadership of Epworthian Bridget Johnsen.
